On October 27, 2017, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS was held. Deputy Director in science, corresponding member of ANAS Dadash Huseynov opened a meeting. D. Huseynov acquainted the seminar participants with the meeting review.

Head of the Department of experimental petrophysics, Doctor in Geology and Mineralogy I. Safarov opened the meeting with a report "Petrophysical models of the mantle and lithosphere of the Earths endogenous processes under the high temperature-pressure conditions." I. Safarov noted that a study of the physical properties of a great number of rock samples was carried out under high pressure (P) and temperature (T) conditions, and a new method for waves velocity and density measurements in height and width was created.

Due to carried out researches of the upper mantle of continent and ocean the petrophysical models of the Earths endogenous regimes were created to define the depth, structure and dynamics of lithosphere development based on seismology, gravimetry, petrography, petrochemistry data.

It was determined that the rocks serpentinization of ophiolite complexes leads to the decrease of velocity and density of the elastic waves under high thermobaric conditions of oceans and continents.

Then discussion of the final report on scientific and technical information for 2017, as well as reports on the conducted works of the National Information Center and the activities of the Committee of young scientists and specialists were attended.

The report aroused much interest, the reporter answered numerous questions. Then the report was adopted by the resolution of the Scientific Council.

Then the scientific-organizational problems and their implementation were discussed.
