A brief description of various geological hazards could be produced by mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan had been discussed in the present book. As mud volcanoes represent the specific geological objects, the special study of hazards caused by their activity is necessary. The mud breccia flows, numerous fissures of the different amplitudes of displacement and directions forming on the eruptive body, gas shows and shakings of the ground surface, caused in result of eruptions had been referred to the number of mentioned hazards. Besides that, the hazardous zones had been shown and their subdivision by the hazard degree assessed for both rest and paroxysmal activity conditions of mud volcano had been carried out.

Evaluation of induced load on environment gave evidence that resulted geological hazards can be comparable by the force with natural hazards and render serious damage to the infrastructure. In this connection, besides the natural geological hazards the main features of induced geological hazards (water and gas shows in the top part of the structures, gryphoning, etc.) had been mentioned in the present book. The intensity of oscillations caused by eruptions of mud volcanoes and intensity of future possible eruption had been assessed, and the eruptions repetition graph and also depths of the sources of mud-volcanic tremors had been calculated in the present book for the first time.

The problem of geological hazard assessment covers the wide public attention. Through this book the specialists can receive the necessary information regarding achievements in the assessment of geological hazards connected with so unique and harmless view phenomenon like mud volcanism. The information given in this book is stated simply as possible.
