Being the 1st part of volume I of "Azerbaijan Geology" issue this book examines in details the problems of stratigraphy of Precambrian formations, Devonian, Carboniferous and Permian systems of the Paleozoic of Azerbaijan Republic. The study is based on great volume of actual material gained and processed during the last 30-40 years. The present state of study of the region stratigraphy and paleontology is given and the description of sections of the Paleozoic and Precambrian are given as well. Then the stratigraphic scheme of these deposits is given. Notions on borders, volume, division into groups, stages, suites and biozones as well as their correlation and comparison with stratigraphic sections of even-aged deposits of the Western Europe and other world provinces are given on each system.
