THE NEXT MEETING OF SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL WAS HELD

The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics was held.
IGG General Director, academician Akif Alizadeh opened the meeting and acquainted the participants on the agenda issues.
Then Namaz Yusubov made a report on “The reasons of the landslides occurrence at different speeds and in different directions on the base of seismic data according to GPS observations”.
It was noted that based on the data interpretation of seismological (2003-2019), geodetic (1998-2020) and seismic (1993-2019) measurements carried out by the employees of the Presidium of ANAS, the Institute of Geology and geophysics, the Institute of Oil and Gas and the Republican Seismic Survey Center, the important results were obtained.
At the end of the report the scientist answered numerous questions. The Scientific Council decided to create an extensive database to obtain more detailed information about the geodynamics of the territory of Azerbaijan and to continue research based on the interpretation model used.
Then, academician Akif Alizadeh informed about the progress of the research work “Geological study of Azerbaijan (1970-2020)” (600 pages).
Then, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov made a report on “Analysis of climate, modern tectonic processes, sea level changes and topographic connection of the Caucasus-Caspian region” (2020-2022) and professor Musa Mammadov made a report on “Mineralogical features and petrology of alkaline and subalkaline igneous complexes of the Caucasian segment of the Mediterranean folded zone” (2020-2022).
Then academician Akif Alizadeh spoke about the completion of the Atlas “Natural Resources of Karabakh”, about the preparation of the textbooks “Short course of theoretical and applied geology” and “Theoretical course of the physics of the Earth”.
The Chairman of the Attestation Commission, academician Akber Feyzullayev reported on the results of the attestation of the IGG employees.
At the end of the meeting, Ph.D. in Earth Sciences Saadat Alekperova informed on the results of IGG master attestation.
