THE NEXT SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL WAS HELD

The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held in the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS. The IGG General Director, academician Akif Alizadeh opened the meeting and acquainted the participants with the meeting review. A. Alizadeh spoke about the IGG activities in 2021. Then the meeting participants honored the memory of the dead scientists during the pandemic with a minute of silence.

Then, the candidate of geological-mineralogical sciences Yegana Lyatifova spoke in detail about the action plan of the Scientific Council and about the scientific seminars. She noted that scientific and scientific-organizational issues, including the action plan of the IGG Scientific Council for 2022, were drawn up based on the proposals put forward by the IGG departments employees. The action plan of the republican seminars in the field of Earth sciences for 2022 was presented.

Academician Akber Feyzullayev spoke about the Republican Olympiad in geology and geophysics for students and masters “Step into the Future-2”, dedicated to the Day of Science (March 27). A. Feyzullayev stressed that such Olympiads stimulate the interest of young scientists.

Then a secret ballot was held to select the scientists to supply the department heads.

A number of different issues were also considered at the end of the meeting.
