GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN THE LIBERATED TERRITORIES
November 11, 2020
According to ScD in Geology and Mineralogy, Professor Musa Mammadov “The territory of Karabakh, surrounded by the Lesser Caucasus, is rich in underground and land natural resources. In the second half of the 20th century, Azerbaijani geologists discovered a lot of deposits of ferrous, non-ferrous and precious metals, hydrocarbons, as well as different types of building materials on the territory of Karabakh”.
The scientist noted the extremely complex and diverse geological and tectonic structure of the earths crust of the territory of Karabakh. This allowed to the development of a wide range of minerals of both endogenous and exogenous origin. Armenian has illegally developed over 160 metals deposits in Karabakh.
The geologist also noted that the main goal of ANAS scientists are to study the current state of underground and land natural resources of Karabakh, liberated after almost 30 years of occupation, as well as to estimate the remaining reserves, to conduct modern geological exploration.
