An article “The statistical analysis of the results of indoor radon and meteorological parameters monitoring on geophysical stations in Azerbaijan” by the IGG scientists was published in the journal “Geophysical Processes and the Biosphere” (volume 18, issue 2).
The authors of article are A.A. Feyzullayev, Ch.S. Aliyev, D.А. Huseynov, R.J. Baghirli (ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics), М.J. Мardanov (ANAS Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics), H.А. Jafarova (Academy of Public Administration under the President Republic of Azerbaijan).
A statistical analysis of the results of monitoring of indoor radon and meteorological parameters (atmospheric pressure, air temperature and humidity) on 3 stationary geophysical stations in Azerbaijan (Sheki, Shamakhy and Kurdamir) from April 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017 is given is given in the article. The database included 13 152 of measurements of studied parameters.
Statistical analysis of the data set over the entire observation period showed a weak correlative relationship between radon and climatic parameters. However, according to the average monthly values for 2017, all three stations show a positive relationship between the change in the radon level and the humidity of the air during the year.
In the rooms of the Shamakhy and Sheki stations increase in radon concentration is accompanied by decrease in atmospheric pressure and increase in air temperature.
