In the museum all data on the exhibits are collected in the computer data bank for widespread use. The data of the Geological and mineralogical museum is used not only by the scientists of the Institute, but also by young scientists and defenders of thesis. The sector takes part in expansion of relation between science and education, training of specialists. Young scientists, masters degree, students can acquaint theireself with the exhibits and study them using the data bank.

The new scientific publications and materials reflecting the creativity of leading scientists of the Institute are collected im museum.

The museum works hand in glove with other museums, organizes the interchange of excess exhibits ones and carries on systematization.
