THE IGG MASTERS WENT ON FIELD WORKS

The group of second-year graduate students took part in field works. They are pursuing graduate studies of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics in the specialties “Geology” and “Engineering Geology”. These filed works will be of great importance for their dissertations. From 14 to 18 October, the graduate students of the Department of mud volcanism, as well as of the Department of geotectonics and regional geology, conducted field works in the Absheron, Shamakhy-Gobustan, Lower Kura, Ismayilli, Oguz and Gabala regions. The candidate of geological-mineralogical sciences Ashraf Kurbanov and PhD in Earth sciences Orkhan Abbasov were the expedition leaders.
During the field works the graduate students got acquainted with the geology of these territories and the carried out researches, the samples were taken.
It should be noted that the main goal of the field works was to study and compare samples taken from these regions.
