Scientific conference dedicated to 80th anniversary of notable scientist – geophysicist, organizer of paleomagnetic science in Azerbaijan Tofik Ali oglu Ismail-zadeh will be held in the Conference Hall of Institute on the 3nd  March, 11:00.

Scientists from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia and Germany will take part in this conference.

T.A. Ismail-zadeh is the founder of paleomagnetic research in Azerbaijan. He created regional paleomagnetic scale for Meso-Cenozoic deposits of Azerbaijan.

He is the co-author of first scientific discovery in Azerbaijan “Pattern of spatial-time distribution of volcanoes eruptions”.

For the first time interregional correlation of paleomagnetic sections of Mesozoic in Azerbaijan, North Caucasus and data on Turkmenistan and North-East Asia was fulfilled.

He took part in development of scientific base for earthquakes prediction, creation of geophysical devices for seismological research, search and exploration of economic minerals.
